National Indigenous History Month (June) is a time to honour the history, heritage, and diversity of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, including National Indigenous Peoples Day which is celebrated on June 21. This day was selected in conjunction with Indigenous communities to take place around the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year and a time for many communities to gather.

Writing Contest Celebrates 15 years!

For 2023, our annual writing contest is being celebrated under a new name, INC. Project, which stands for imagination, narrative, and creativity. The new name represents the spirit of the project and allows for additional categories in the future. Submissions are being accepted from May 1 to June 11. As before, prizes are provided by the Friends of the Halton Hills Public Library.
