Alex Hilson

Alex Hilson has lived in Halton Hills his entire life, initially in Georgetown and – for the past eighteen years – in Acton. Alex is a recently elected Town Councillor representing Ward 1 (Acton and surrounding area) on Halton Hills Council. Before being on Council, he was the Acton BIA Coordinator and has been a private music instructor for nearly a decade.

Alex wanted to be on the Library Board because of his own experience growing up with the library, the benefit it promises for young people, and its importance to the greater community. He is the current President of the Optimist Club of Halton Hills, Rectors Warden at St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Acton, sits on the board of the Acton Food Share, and is also on the Active Transportation Committee with the Town. Alex believes libraries offer a place for residents to find support and connection within their communities. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering, playing with bands at local events, and reading.
