If you are not able to find what you were looking for, we can borrow items from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan. Before requesting a title through Interlibrary Loan, we kindly ask that you check the Halton Hills Public Library Catalogue. If we have the title you are looking for, please place a request through our catalogue.

Request Form
If you only need to use our Interlibrary Loan service once in a while or if you want to borrow multiple copies of the same item for your book club, you can request items in person at either library location, by calling the library or by completing the Borrow from Another Library form.

How much does it cost?

  • Interlibrary Loans from other public libraries are usually free of charge.
  • Some libraries, such as university libraries, do charge a fee. If the item you request can only be borrowed from a university, a staff person will let you know the cost before the item is borrowed.
  • Fines will be charged on overdue Interlibrary Loan materials in accordance with Halton Hills Public Library policies.
  • Fees for lost or damaged items borrowed from other libraries are charged to your library card account. The library that lent the item to you determines these fees.
