Halton Hills Public Library (HHPL) is celebrating Pride Month this June with a variety of resources and programs to highlight the contributions of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community locally, nationally, and worldwide. Residents are invited to take part in free programs that celebrate Pride.

Highlights include: 

  • Rainbow Storytime: Enjoy weekly storytimes throughout June that celebrate inclusivity and kindness at both branches. Visit our website calendar for details.
  • Rainbow Film Series: Bring your friends and family and watch a movie at the John Elliott Theatre. This free series showcases 2SLGBTQIA+ stories and all are welcome to attend. Visit our website calendar for details.
  • Rainbow Resources Guide: Pick up a guide from either branch and discover new reads, movies, helpful resources, and to understand terminology. 
  • Rainbow Reads: Borrow a variety of reads written by 2SLGBTQIA+ authors and creators. You’ll find books for children, youth, and adults. Visit our online catalogue to browse items.
  • Drag Makeup with Karma Kameleon: Learn the art of drag makeup, led by a local Drag Queen at the Georgetown Branch on July 11 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Visit our website calendar for details. Registration opens June 15.
  • Fay and Fluffy Storytime: Sing songs, laugh, read together, and show that reading is FUN-damental with our popular Fay and Fluffy Storytime at the Georgetown Branch on Saturday, August 10 from 10-11 a.m. Tickets will be available June 15 at the John Elliott Theatre Box Office. Halton Pride Events: Join the library at Halton Pride Fest '24 (run by Pflag Halton) - Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hidden Valley Park, Burlington and at the Halton Pride Parade (run by PRISM Halton) – Sunday, July 14 from 2 – 3:30 p.m., Main Street, Milton.
