Halton Hills, ON – March 18, 2025
We are excited to announce that the first-ever OnScreen Halton Hills Film Festival is coming to you, bringing the best of Canadian film to our community for free from April 2-16!
Presented by the Halton Hills Public Library, Create Halton Hills, the National Film Board of Canada, and National Canadian Film Day, this fun and unique event will celebrate the incredible talent of Canadian filmmakers and showcase our rich national identity.
The festival will take place at various locations across Halton Hills with a series of free screenings, giving everyone in the community a chance to enjoy something special. From powerful documentaries to stunning animations, the films will highlight Canada’s diverse storytelling.
"We’re thrilled to bring the best of Canadian cinema to our community through the OnScreen Halton Hills Film Festival. This event celebrates Canadian talent, connects our community, and makes this cultural experience accessible to all." – Beverley King, Chief Librarian and CEO, Halton Hills Public Library.
The event will conclude with a grand finale on April 16, in celebration of National Canadian Film Day where we will be screening the hit film "I Like Movies" at the Acton Town Hall Centre, and hear from Dr. Michael Baker, Professor of Film Studies at Sheridan College. Dr. Baker will dive into the world of Canadian film and share his insights. Tickets for refreshments will be available for purchase onsite, offering the opportunity to enjoy delicious bites from Sadboy Pizza and savour local drinks while you watch!
