National Indigenous History Month is a time to honour the history, heritage, and diversity of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and recognize the strength and resilience of these communities.

The month of June is a time of sharing and recognition for Indigenous communities throughout the month culminating with National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. This day was selected in conjunction with Indigenous communities to take place around the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year and is the time many communities gather.

Collections
Your Library has a variety of books, videos and resources by Indigenous authors and creators. Borrow these great resources and learn something new or discover a new and exciting author! Visit our online catalogue to view all the resources.

The Moccasin Identifier
Join us to recognize Indigenous heritage and culture by using stencils to create temporary paintings based on drawings of historical moccasins of the Anishanaabe, Huron-Wendat, Seneca and Cree. This drop-in program is offered at the Acton and Georgetown Branches and is for all ages. Please come prepared to paint. Storywalk®
Join HHPL for an engaging family Storywalk at the Georgetown Farmers Market and the Acton Branch of HHPL. We will be featuring The Raven’s Feast by Kung Jaadee. Equity & Diversity Book Club
Join the Halton Equity and Diversity Roundtable for this inclusive book club that invites members of the community to explore diverse titles and encourages thought-provoking conversations.
