Halton Hills Public Library will be launching a new library system on October 22, 2025, just in time for Ontario Public Libraries Week.

This upgraded system will include lots of new features for library members and a new library mobile app, so that you can manage your account and browse the library all from your phone or other mobile device.

New features will be rolled out gradually. These will include a new library catalogue with advanced searching features, the ability to bookmark items and save searches. A new program calendar with an option to create your own brochure of programs that best fit your needs and interests. You will also be able to sign up to receive library notifications by text message.

To prepare for this upgrade, some library services will be temporarily paused between October 10 and October 22. Library card accounts, including online renewals, fine payments and placing holds on library materials will not be available. Some research databasesebook and streaming services may also be interrupted.

You will still be able to check out items by visiting an in-branch service desk. New members will also still be able to register for a library card in-branch or sign up through the library website. Public computers, including laptops and printing services will still be available. Study room bookings will continue as normal through the library website. Programs and events will run without disruption.

Due dates and hold expiration dates will be extended until November 4.
