Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week (OPLW) at your library! From October 16-20, discover why Libraries are for Life. It’s an opportunity for libraries and library partners across Canada to raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in the lives of people in Canada and the vital role your library plays in the community.
This year’s theme is “Libraries for Life,” which focuses on the role that libraries play in supporting individual and collective connections to the past and future of our communities, nations, and civilizations. Public libraries are committed to literacy and life-long learning, reducing barriers, providing safe and inclusive spaces, and offering a variety of opportunities for creative expression. In celebration of OPLW, we are offering the following programs:

TIFF OnScreen at the JET: Little Richard
Little Richard: I Am Everything tells the story of Richard Penniman, better known to the public as Little Richard. Combining archival and performance footage with interviews of Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Mick Jagger, Billy Porter and more, this documentary helps to capture and reflect on the influence and legacy of Little Richard’s storied career while also examining his complex beliefs and personal life. This film helps to shine a light on the Black and 2SLGBTQIA+ origins of rock ‘n’ roll. Tickets are available through the John Elliott Theatre Box Office. TIFF OnScreen at the John Elliott Theatre gratefully acknowledges our partnership with Film Circuit, presented by TIFF, and its sponsors and supporters.
