In Canada, Pride Season is celebrated from June to September. It's a time to come together and highlight the resilience, celebrate the talent, and recognize the contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Halton Hills Public Library, our community partners, and the Helson Gallery invite you to celebrate Pride season with the following events. 

 

Pride Halton 

You're invited to the third annual Pride Halton celebration! Enjoy a full weekend of events July 18 to 20 with activities in Georgetown and Milton. 

 

Friday Night Lock-in: Pride Parade Prep  

Design your own wearable accessories for the Pride parade. Celebrate with customized signs, bracelets, flags, and face decorations. July 18, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Georgetown Branch.

Join us at the Halton Pride Parade and Pride in the Parkfamily-friendly events where you can bring your banner, wear your colours, and walk with Pride. Organized by PRISM Halton. 

 

 

Celebrate Pride at the Library 

Enjoy stories of inclusivity, explore self-expression, and get ready for the Halton Pride Parade with our full day of Pride programs on Saturday, July 19. 

 

Featured Event: Math in Drag with Kyne 

Unleash your inner math diva with author and Tik Tok superstar Kyne! Kyne will share her personal story and some of her favourite math problems, along with advice on embracing yourself and what makes you unique. Free tickets are available at the John Elliott Theatre Box Office.

Helson Gallery Presents Peter Palermo

In celebration of Pride Month, the Helson Gallery is proud to feature the work of local artist Peter Palermo. 

 

Mayor’s Showcase: Artwork of Peter Palermo 

This exhibition highlights Peter Palermo’s vibrant and expressive paintings, offering the community a chance to engage with art that explores identity, nature, and personal reflection. Featured is a series of small paintings inspired by his summer travels, where he sketches landscapes while hiking and camping, later transforming them into finished works in his Georgetown studio. His works will be on display at Town Hall until mid-August
