This area, located on the lower level in the Georgetown Branch, provides experiences for creativity, updated computer software and hardware, new Cricut machines, a t-shirt press, a powerhouse iMac and 3D Printer. We have what you need. It’s creativity and learning at its best!

Welcome to Cricut!

DIY Maker Machines
Our new Cricut Maker is the ultimate smart cutting DIY machine, and you’ll find this amazing machine in our Creativity Centre! Choose from various tools and cut hundreds of materials quickly and accurately; from the most delicate paper to matboard and leather. The Cricut Maker delivers professional level cutting performance and is safe and easy to use. Patrons will need to bring their own materials to cut and create with. Have questions? Ask library staff for more information.

DIY EasyPress (t-shirt press)
Use your creative prowess and design something cool, fun, and edgy for a t-shirt. Design your creation or wordle, let our Cricut cutting machine cut the creation, then press it onto your favourite clothing/bag using our new t-shirt press (please bring your own item to press your creation on). Ask at a service desk for more information.

Inspiration and Ideas
Get inspiration for your creations and projects with our selection of Cricut craft books. These books have a variety of design and DIY project ideas to use with the Cricut. New to using Cricut? No problem! We have step-by-step guidebooks that will help you learn everything you need to get started. Search HHPL’s online catalogue to discover more.

Explore Amazing Technology

New Computers
Design, create and experience with photo, video, and music editing, as well as high-res scanning! You’ll find new, powerful, and updated computers in the Creativity Centre to perform all your tasks. Enjoy these new computers for all your graphic intensive projects.

3D Printer
Design something cool, abstract, or specific, then print in 3D for endless opportunities of creativity and design! Our Cubicon Single Plus 3D printer uses an environmentally friendly corn-based, fully biodegradable filament which is in line with HHPL’s sustainable strategy. The printer boasts a large 4.3” LCD touch display, USB memory, a HEPA filter that keeps particulates and odours from escaping, and quiet operation, making it ideal for the library environment. Save Your Memories!
Turn all your memories into updated formats at the Library! Convert old home movies on VHS to DVD or a digital format in our Creativity Centre. Burn video to a DVD or save your video to a digital format to play on your computer or TV at home. Old photographs and slides can be scanned and saved in a digital format. Photos or slides not in the best of condition? Our computers have a variety of software that you can use to adjust colour or brightness, or even digitally fix things like folds or worn areas.
