The Halton Hills Public Library offers exam proctoring services at both the Acton and Georgetown branches.
Exam proctoring services are available on Fridays from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm. To schedule a booking please complete the exam proctoring request form.
Proctoring and room rental fees:
For students who live, work or study in Halton Hills, the proctoring fee is $50 + HST for one exam up to three hours in length. For students who do not live, work or study in Halton Hills, the proctoring fee is $185 + HST. Room rental fees are included in the proctoring fees. Additional fees may apply for exams outside of regularly scheduled exam proctoring times or those exceeding three hours in length.
Guidelines:
- Please read the Student and Library Responsibilities for Exam Proctoring information before booking your proctoring session.
- You are required to have a Halton Hills Public Library card in good standing and one additional piece of valid photo identification.
- A minimum of 10 days' notice is required. Please allow 2-3 business days for a confirmation.
- The library is not a distraction-free setting.
- Students must arrive at least 15 minutes before their exam start time to pay their proctoring fee and complete any pre-exam procedures or paperwork. Scheduled exam times cannot be extended because of late arrival.
- The library will receive, supervise, and then submit your exam to your school.
- A library staff member will check on you periodically as you complete your exam.
- It is the responsibility of the student to install the proper software on their computer prior to writing the exam.
- The library can provide a laptop if needed for online exams. No additional software will be installed on library-owned laptops.
- The library staff are able to offer minimal technical support (ex. Wi-Fi connection).
- The library is not responsible for unforeseen interruptions of the test due to loss of power, Internet service, or other problems.
