The Halton Hills Public Library's Early Literacy Programs support your child's school readiness and love of reading.

All programs are listed in our Program Calendar. Below is a sample of our programs:

Baby rhyme and romp 

This is a free program for babes 0-12 months of age and their caregivers. Babies are born ready to learn, and we have lots of nursery, tickle and bounce rhymes to share with new parents.

Family storytime

This is a free program for families with young children. It is 30 minutes long. We use stories, music and movement. We also do this program at the community centres. You don't need to register. Just drop in.

KinderPrep

This is a free program for 3 – 5 year old's that helps get kids ready for school. We use stories, music and puppets and introduce concepts like numeracy, patterning, & other early-learning concepts in this 8 week program.

Please note: Many of these programs are offered in 8 week sessions four times a year. Some programs require registration and some require fees (to cover instructors and materials) that must be paid at registration.
