Background

An outdoor reading deck for the Acton Branch was included in the original 2009 design of the building. The deck was removed from the final design due to unexpected costs in 2010. Since the opening of the Acton Branch in 2011, the Friends of the Library, have raised approximately $22,000 to support the construction of the deck. The reading deck was approved as part of the 2018 Capital Budget and the deck was installed in the fall of 2021, with a grand opening in the Spring of 2022.
