Our easy-to-use, self-serve checkout stations deliver a unique experience for library patrons of all ages and abilities – making borrowing library items a breeze.
We offer two different contactless and paperless checkout options at our Georgetown and Acton branches.
Bibliotheca |
Our Bibliotheca selfchecks, desktop and free-standing kiosks, are available at the entrance/exit of each branch. At the kiosk, scan your library card to access your account. As you scan your items place them on the countertop to deactivate the security tags. To complete your transaction, decline a paper receipt or opt to receive an email receipt instead. Please note, you are unable to checkout video games or circulating electronics using Bibliotheca shelfchecks. Please visit the circulation desk if you wish to borrow these items. |
meeScan |
The free meeScan app, available for Andriod and iOS, uses your built-in camera from your smartphone or tablet to scan item barcodes. On your way out, stop by the meeScan station (located on the upper and lower levels of the Georgetown Branch, and School Lane entrance at the Acton branch) to deactivate the security tags on your items. meeScan is also paperless! Check the app any time to review item due dates and manage your check outs. Please note, you are unable to checkout video games or circulating electronics using meeScan. Please visit the circulation desk if you wish to borrow these items. |
