ActiVan and Taxi Script Tickets |
If you are a registered user with ActiVan Accessible Transit, you can purchase tickets at both Library branches. ActiVan services are for residents 65 years and over, and persons with disabilities living in Halton Hills. See ActiVan Accessible Transit for more information. |
Book a Librarian |
Book a one-on-one help session with a staff member at either branch location. These 30-minute appointments can help you learn a new technology, research your family history, or find information on a topic of interest. |
Collections |
Search our catalogue for large-print books or audiobooks, or ask us how to get items in accessible formats through CELA Library. We also have Book Club in a Bag kits ready for your next book club meeting, or can order books from another library through our Borrow from Another Library service. |
Community Knitting Project |
Do you knit or crochet? Donate knitted or crocheted squares (20 cm x 20 cm) to the Halton Hills Public Library Community Knitting Project. Finished squares are assembled into blankets and donated to residents in Halton Hills. |
Energy Meters |
These tools are available to help you identify which appliances in your home consume the most energy. Energy meters are offered in partnership with Halton Hills Hydro and the Town of Halton Hill Office of Sustainability. |
Free to Explore: Skate and Swim Pass |
These passes provide entrance for up to 5 people to a Public Skate or Leisure Swim at any Town of Halton Hills arena or pool. At least 1 adult aged 18 years must be in attendance; maximum 2 adults. Passes can be used for a 7 day period. View our Library Catalogue to place your hold. |
Garbage Tags |
Halton Region garbage tags are available at the library. Garbage tags cost $2 per tag and can only be purchased in sheets of five tags ($10 per sheet). |

Library Care Letter Writing Campaign |
Brighten someone’s day, pick up a Library Care Grab and Go Kit from the Acton or Georgetown branches of the library. Take a few minutes to create a positive message, work of art, poem or message of hope. When your message is finished, drop it back off at the library and we’ll make sure it gets delivered. |
Senior Driver's License Renewal Program |
The Senior Driver's License Renewal Program is held at the Georgetown Branch for seniors over the age of 80 who need to renew their driver's licenses. You will be notified by the Ministry of Transportation if you are a senior who needs to attend. Sessions are held two Wednesdays each month. You will need to register by calling 1-800-396-4233 or 416-235-3579 and asking for Georgetown Testing. Each class includes an eye exam, written test, and a seminar. |
