Forest of Reading®, Canada’s largest recreational reading program wants readers in Kindergarten – Grade 12 to discover incredible books and help choose the next Forest of Reading® winners!

Offered in both English and French, with 270,000 readers taking part every year, this program offers young readers the opportunity to celebrate Canadian authors and to vote on their favourite fiction, and non-fiction books. This initiative is made available through the Ontario Library Association (OLA). 

There are ten categories, each of which is associated with a grade range. Read as many of the books as you can in your grade category and then vote for your favourite at the library! 

Kindergarten – Grade 12 can vote for their favourite with us at our branches or online on our website beginning April 18 – 25, 2026. Winners will be announced in May 2026.
