Whether you visit us at the library or invite us to your location, we offer a variety of age-appropriate experiences designed to support literacy, learning, and library discovery.

Welcome to the Library
All ages – Grades 1 – 8
Learn all about the public library, including who can get a library, borrowable items, library programs, and services during this presentation, then, tour the library branch scavenger hunt style! Customize your visit depending on your age group with a storytime or a demonstration of searching the library catalogue.

Exploring STEM
Grades 1 - 6
In this hands-on, station-based workshop students will be introduced to a variety of STEM resources for their age group and learn about coding, circuitry, engineering, and more.

Graphic Novels and Visual Storytelling
Grades 3 - 8
Explore the unique world of graphic novels and comics. Students will learn how authors and illustrators use words and images together to tell stories, then create their own short comic or visual narrative.

Finding Facts: Introduction to Research
Grades 4 - 8
Students will be introduced to the variety of books and materials available at the library and introduce searching our catalogue and databases.

Introduction to the Makerspace
Grades 4 - 8
Discover all that the Creativity Centre has to offer. Students will learn how to create and develop new skills using the Centre's resources and technologies. What are the potential uses and impacts of this technology? With a focus on the fundamentals of 3D printing, students will explore these questions as they learn the basics of 3D printing and design an object that will have a positive impact on their classroom. Program available at branch location only.
★ $2/student to cover the cost of 3D printer filament.
