Curious minds are welcome here. Our stay and play areas at each branch invite children and families to explore, gate, and play in safe and welcoming spaces filled with hands on toys, board games, interactive play tables, and computer stations designed just for kids. Visit your local branch today!

Fine Free
Borrow, read, discover, and explore with confidence. Children and youth ages 0 to 17 years old never pay overdue fines or fees at the library. Visit at our Library Card page for more information.

The library connects children and families with community partners and services that support well-being and belonging. Together, we work to create equitable access to healthy food, support services, child development resources, and opportunities that help local families thrive. School and Group visits
The library happily welcomes tours and group visits! We host school classes and community groups such as daycares, sparks, and Beavers, and we can come to you too! Visits can include library card sign-ups, curriculum-based research and learning skills for kids and youth, or story times for younger children. Family Recreation Activities
In partnership with the Town of Halton Hills, HHPL invites you to borrow a variety of fun and interactive games and activity kits designed for all ages. From giant tabletop challenges to outdoor sports and play sets, there's something to spark creativity, movement, and friendly competition for everyone. Active Play Kits encourage outdoor exploration and activity, perfect for families looking to have fun together. Simply place a hold with your library card, and we'll let you know when your kit is ready for pick up. All family recreation activities are listed in our Catalogue once they are available to borrow, starting in June each year.
Passes and Tickets
If you are a registered user with the Youth Taxi Scrip Program, you can purchase tickets at both Library branches. This service is available to youth ages 13 – 19 and allows riders to call participating taxi companies directly for travel within Halton Hills. Kids Creativity Centre
At HHPL, kids and caregivers can explore, create, and play in our dedicated STEAM spaces and programs. From hands-on building and tech-based activities, to Toy Box Kids 3D printers, sewing projects, and interactive play with innovative engineering items like our Big Blue Blocks, there's endless opportunity for curiosity, imagination, and learning through play.
