Library Card Eligibility
You are eligible for a free library card if you:

Live in Halton Hills,
-
Work in Halton Hills,
-
Go to school in Halton Hills,
-
Own property in Halton Hills, or
-
Have a library card from a public library in another municipality in Halton, or selected areas of Peel or Wellington Counties
If none of the above apply, you can purchase a library card membership for $32 per year.
You can be any age and have a library membership. Applicants under the age of 14 require a parent or guardian's signature.
How to Apply
Online

The online form is for first-time applicants only. If you wish to replace a lost library card, please visit a library branch.

Complete the Halton Hills Public Library Card online registration form.

After you submit the form, you will receive confirmation by email.

When your library card is ready for pick up, you will receive a second email.

After you receive your second email, visit any branch of the Halton Hills Public Library to pick up your card. Photo ID is required to receive your library card.
In Branch

Visit any service desk at your local branch of the Halton Hills Public Library and fill in an application.

Replacement cards can be purchased for $2.

Photo ID is required to receive your library card.

Renewing Materials
If you need more time to enjoy your material, no problem! Items without holds can easily be renewed online, over the phone or in person.
Always have your library card or your photo ID with you to access library services or materials. If any changes occur, such as a change of name, address or phone number, please tell staff right away. If your card is lost or stolen, please call 905-873-2681 immediately and cancel your card. Replacement cards can be purchased for $2.
