Discover the Library in a Whole New Way with Our New Website 

We’re excited to introduce the Halton Hills Public Library’s brand-new website, designed to make it easier for you to discover, access, and connect with library services. 

For many people, your experience with the library begins online. You might be looking for a program, placing a hold, or exploring what’s happening in the community. The new website has been built with this in mind, offering a clear, intuitive, and mobile-friendly experience that helps you find what you need quickly and easily. 

The website acts as the library’s digital front door. From one central place, you can browse programs, search the catalogue, place holds, book study rooms and more. 

Over the past year, we’ve introduced several tools to support and enhance this experience, including a new library catalogue system, program calendar, study room booking, a new email communication platform, and the HHPL mobile app. The new website brings all of these together in one place, creating a more seamless and connected experience. 

Behind the scenes, these services are now more integrated. The program calendar connects with study room booking, making it easier for you to plan and participate. You can now also search programs, the catalogue, and website content all from one main search bar, helping you find what you need more quickly. The catalogue is woven throughout the site, helping you discover materials as you explore programs and services. 

You can also explore everything the library has to offer digitally in one place with our new Digital Library page. This dedicated space brings together all of our online resources, from ebooks and audiobooks to databases, research tools, and learning platforms, making it easier for you to discover what’s available. With the ability to filter by topic, audience, or resource name, you can quickly find exactly what you’re looking for and uncover something new along the way. 

If you’re on the go, the HHPL mobile app extends this experience even further so you can access your account, borrow materials, and stay connected anytime, anywhere. 

Accessibility has also been a key focus. Updates to our brand, including a more accessible colour palette and improved visual design, help make information clearer, more readable, and easier to navigate across all platforms. 

Together, these improvements create a more connected and accessible library experience. They make it easier for you to discover services, participate in programs, and stay engaged with everything HHPL has to offer.
