Please note that the Georgetown Branch will be closed on June 3 and 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Staff Development activities connected to the Halton Equity & Diversity Roundtable (HEDR) Conference. The branch will reopen each evening from 5 to 8:30 p.m., and the Acton Branch will remain open regular hours.
This year marks the first time in the conference’s 11-year history that Halton Hills is hosting the HEDR IDEA Leadership Conference. Co-hosted by the Town of Halton Hills and Halton Hills Public Library, the conference brings together inspiring speakers, community leaders, artists, and changemakers to explore equity, diversity, and inclusion in both urban and rural communities.
While conference registration is now closed, you’re still invited to take part in two free community events:
MCFN Flag Raising
June 2, 5 to 7 p.m. at Shelagh Law Parkette
Join Chief Margaret Sault for the raising of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation flag and take part in the Moccasin Identifier Project presented by HHPL. This community gathering is an opportunity to reflect, learn, and connect together.
June 3, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library and Cultural Centre
Enjoy an evening of live music, conversation, and art while exploring the Helson Gallery and Sisnett Lobby through a guided tour led by curator Kara Bruce and Anishinaabe Kwe artist Kate Dalton.
We appreciate your understanding during the temporary closure and look forward to welcoming both conference attendees and community members to these meaningful events.
