Celebrate Spring with Seedy Saturday on April 11
Spring is around the corner! Get into the gardening spirit with Seedy Saturday at the Georgetown Branch. Join us on Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a fun-filled day of activities for all ages.
A Day Full of Activities for All Ages
Families can start the day with a special garden‑themed Family Storytime, followed by a variety of drop‑in activities including seed planting, a scavenger hunt, and other creative, nature‑inspired fun. Whether you are a budding gardener or a seasoned green thumb, there is something to spark your curiosity.
Featured Workshops and Presentations
This year’s Seedy Saturday includes two special learning opportunities:
CVC Workshop: Attracting Birds to Your Yard | 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Learn how to create a beautiful, bird‑friendly yard using native plants. Discover the most common and unique birds in your neighbourhood and explore how native trees and shrubs can attract them. The workshop will also cover common threats birds face and practical ways to keep them safe.
Invasive Species Presentation | 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Georgetown Horticultural Society will lead an informative session on invasive species. Participants will learn what invasive species are, why they matter, and how gardeners can help protect local ecosystems.
Meet Local Environmental and Community Partners
Throughout the day, visitors can explore information booths in the lobby hosted by local organizations dedicated to conservation, sustainability, and community education. Confirmed partners include:
Willow Park Ecology Centre
Conservation Halton
Halton Hills Climate Action
Halton Hills EcoFilms Fest
Credit Valley Conservation (CVC)
Additional partners may be added as confirmations continue.
Seedy Saturday is the perfect opportunity to learn something new, connect with local experts, and get inspired for the growing season ahead. Mark your calendar, bring your questions, and celebrate spring with us at the Georgetown Branch.
