This amazing Georgetown resident was a veteran of both WWI and WWII, the Fire Chief, and a well respected member of our community. Despite the obstacles he faced as a Black man in a racially tumultuous time, he was revered by his peers as a man of incredible integrity. Henry Thomas Shepherd’s legacy remains strong among the residents of Halton Hills and surrounding communities and will continue to inspire. In the face of indifference, Henry challenged the odds and charged through life with passion, dignity and respect. Henry Thomas Shepherd was a trailblazer.
